The Greeter’s main job is to conduct tours
at the Shriner’s Hospital here in Spokane.
We are also called upon to escort VIPs at
the Potentate’s ball and other events. Other
duties include participating in special
events at the hospital, in parades, etc.
John Hoffmann is the Chairman of the patient
advocacy program. This activity assigns a
Noble to a patient for as long as the
patient receives care at the hospital. The
Noble need not be a Greeter.
Being on duty at the hospital, which amounts
to about one day a month, is a very
rewarding experience, as the Greeter sees
some of the patients and parents which puts
faces on our philanthropy.
Even though we do not get personally
involved with the patient or their parents,
it is rewarding to see how we as Nobles help
these children.
This is the end result of our Potentate’s
slogan “Let’s Have Fun & Git-R-Done”.
