Steven L. Hearn, son of Past Potentate Dale Hearn and his wife, Paula, recently became "El Katif's Youngest Shriner Ever" at the age of 18.

Hearn graduated last June from high school, then joined the Navy in August and went through boot camp and "A" school training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois.

Last December, while in Spokane on furlough, Steve became a Master Mason in Spangle Lodge #131.

In March, he returned to Spokane to become a Shriner before going on to his new duty station at Everett Naval Base in Everett, Wash., where he is assigned as a Naval Hull Technician aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier.

Steve's mother, Paula, fezzed him during the ceremony, and his grandmother presented him with his grandfather's Shrine pin. Steve is now a third-generation Hearn family Mason and Shriner.
