The
Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network
of 22 hospitals across North America that
provide excellent, no-cost medical care to
children with orthopedic problems and burn
injuries. There are 18 Shriners Hospitals
providing orthopedic care, three providing
burn care, and one providing orthopedic and
burn care. Additionally, three Shriners
Hospitals provide rehabilitative care to
children with spinal cord injuries.
Since
1922, Shriners Hospitals have been helping
children free of charge. There is never a
charge to the patient or family, and no
insurance monies or U.S. government funds
(federal, state or local) are used for any
of the medical care or services provided by
Shriners Hospitals.
Admission to a Shriners Hospital is based on
medical need. Children from infancy to their
18th birthday are eligible for admission to
a Shriners Hospital if treatment would
benefit the child. Applications may be
obtained by calling 1-800-237-5055 in the
United States, or in Canada call
1-800-361-7256. All calls are toll-free. |
